In Theaters: KING KONG

The original King Kong was released in 1933 and at the time was thought to be a innovative piece of film making. Some seventy-two years later King Kong once again is an innovative piece of film making...and much more.
"King Kong" is full of thrills, action, drama and comedy all rolled into 187 minutes of the movie event of the year. You know the story by now, a film maker ( Jack Black) drags unsuspecting cast and crew off to Skull Island to film an epic adventure and save his movie career. Once on the island they all get more than they bargained for with prehistoric creatures, man sized insects and a 25 foot tall ape. From that moment on the audience is treated to some of the most thrilling and clever action sequences on film today, along with the a few tender moments between Kong and the leading lady of the doomed production. The sequences on the island are filmed in such a way that you actually think you are looking at real animals on a real island. All of the island's action makes you wonder when ( and why) should we even go back to New York, everything I need to know about "Kong" is on the island.
Peter Jackson ( Lord of the Rings) has again created a movie that exists in its own universe, set in 1933 New York the film looks great! Jackson and his crew have absolutely perfected the art of computer generation and they make every shot and scene in this film look fantastic. There was a time not so long ago that moviegoers eagerly awaited the next Spielberg production so they could be treated to awsome fantasies that glued them to the seat for two hours. With a pocket full of money and a mantle full of Oscars, I think Peter Jackson is the twenty first century Spielberg when it comes to imaginative film making. He has truly created a masterpiece that will last forever, I cant imagine it getting any better than this in seventy-two years.

I agree with everything, except the movie was much too long....could have avoided most of the creatures on the island. Jack Black was fantastic!
